The viewer can exist in the following three modes in Horizon Patient Folder WebStation and HorizonWP Physician Portal Modules:
- Medical Record view mode: In this mode, the Medical Record Viewer is accessed by clicking the Patient name link on the Search Results window and the Deficiency Worklist, or the Medical Record Viewer button on the Deficiency Viewer. In Medical Record view, you can group all documents of the same type (for example, Labs) across encounters using the Document sort in this view.
Similarly, the Encounter Viewer presents a list of documents for the selected encounter. This view allows you to access the document images for one encounter. (If you multi-select encounters in Patient Search and click View, the Encounter Viewer is accessed. Patient Search is not available in Physician Portal.)
These two viewers have a subset of the menu items and buttons available since these view modes are intended primarily for researching the patient's chart for other documents/encounters. See:
About the Medical Record Viewer
- Assignment Processing mode: In this mode, the Assignment Viewer is accessed by clicking the Process or Process All button on the Assignment Worklist. The system opens the viewer and presents the document image for the document linked to the first selected assignment or, if there is no linked document, you can click the Documents tab in the Content panel to view the list of documents for the encounter. The viewer has the menu items and buttons available for assignment processing. See:
About the Assignment Viewer
- Chart Completion mode: In this mode (also available in HPF Workstation), the Deficiency Viewer is accessed by the Process or Process All function on the Deficiency Worklist. The viewer has all the deficiency completion buttons and menu items available for you to disposition the signature, missing text, or dictation deficiency. Additionally, for signature deficiencies, the Auto Sign and text editing functions (on appropriate documents) may be available to you. See:
About the Signature Viewer
About the Missing Text Viewer
About the Dictation Viewer
In chart completion, you can have one viewer of each of the following types for a total of three viewers:
- Deficiency Viewer
- Medical Record Viewer
- Encounter Viewer
When viewing the list of encounters and documents for the patient, you can click on the plus (+) signs to expand the node and view the next level of information. For example, clicking on the plus for a document shows the pages under it.
For more information about viewer functions and the user interface, see About the Viewer.
