About the Medical Record Viewer

Medical Record Viewer

The viewer in Medical Record view mode presents all documents for the patient (by MRN). This mode is typically for inquiry only and is used by physicians completing charts and various staff processing assignments. It is also used by the general or infrequent user of the system to locate patients and research charts. These users might be the Medical Record department, the legal department, and so forth.

You can access the Medical Record Viewer from:

• The Search Results window by clicking the Patient name link
• The Deficiency Worklist window by clicking the Patient name link
• The Content panel on the viewer by clicking the Documents tab
• The Medical Record Viewer menu item or button on the viewer

In Medical Record view, you can use the Pages, Documents, and View menu options to manipulate images and navigate through documents. You can also add an assignment.

Encounter Viewer

The Encounter Viewer is similar to the Medical Record Viewer. It provides access to the documents for one encounter. It provides the same viewer menu functionality as the Medical Record Viewer. You can access the Encounter Viewer from:

• The Search Results window by clicking the Encounter number link
• The Deficiency Worklist window by clicking the Encounter number link
• The Encounter Viewer menu item or button on the viewer
