Deficiency Completion Concepts
The deficiency worklist provides access to outstanding
chart deficiencies. You can select, review, and update signature deficiencies,
dictation deficiencies, and missing text deficiencies for one or more patients.
For important information that applies to all deficiency completion windows, click:
In the deficiency completion window, for all deficiency types you can:
- View your list of deficiencies. You can filter deficiencies by type (Signature, Dictation, and Missing Text). Within each type, deficiencies are listed by status the first time you access the list, with most severe (Suspended) on top. Each status is indicated by a color.
- Click on the column head to have the list sorted by that topic (for example, patient name), rather than the default (status). When you use a different sort, that becomes your default for the session. (The sort preference applies to all types, it is not different for each type.)
Your enterprise can configure the columns that are displayed in the worklist as well as the column sort order.
- Print your list of deficiencies by type using the Print button.
- Process one, many, or all deficiencies by selecting the check box next to the deficiency and clicking Process or clicking Process All.
- Process deficiencies for yourself or your group by selecting your individual worklist or the worklist for your group from the list of worklists at the left of the window. (To process group deficiencies you must have security rights, and may only have rights to process one category of deficiency, such as signature, and not have access to the dictation or missing text categories. On the worklist, you will see only the option for the deficiency categories to which you have rights.)
- Complete dictation deficiencies from the Deficiency Worklist window.
- Decline one or more deficiencies.
- Assign decline reasons to deficiencies.
- Access the viewer to view document images (after you make a selection from the worklist or click Process All).
Documents in view-restricted status
You may see documents listed in the chart that you are not able to access with the viewer. These documents are in view-restricted status for a specified period of time pending review, editing, and approval by the authenticating physician. See About Text Editing for more information.
