Deficiency Completion Features

Some features of the HPF WebStation that you might find helpful in the deficiency completion process include:

Viewing Related Records

During chart completion activities the physician may need to access all documents for the patient's current encounter or the patient's entire medical record. To access these records, use the Encounter Viewer button and Medical Record Viewer button on the viewer.

Color-Coded Deficiencies

The chart completion grids may contain numerous deficiencies for a physician in various delinquency statuses. In an effort to ensure that the oldest deficiencies are completed, the physician will see the deficiencies displayed in color on the worklist grid. A color is assigned to a particular deficiency status and the physician can quickly pick the most delinquent deficiencies to complete first.

Deficiency Information

During chart completion, the physician may need to access certain information about the deficiency in order to complete the assigned task. To expedite access to this information, a deficiency information (Def. Info) tab is provided on the Content panel of the Deficiency Viewer. With a click, the physician can see deficiency information such as: Deficiency Type, Status, Admission and Discharge Date. Tab options also allow you to access separate panels for patient and encounter information.

Document Versioning

When a document is edited during signature deficiency completion, the content of the document may change significantly. Since patient care decisions may have been made on the original 'un-edited' version of the document, HPF must be able to preserve the original version. This feature is configurable by the customer and is enabled at the enterprise level. User access to a previous version of a document is a security privilege.

Deficiency Grids

The chart completion grids contain a list of the deficiencies that need to be completed by the physician. The grids are basically the same for all three deficiency types and include several fields that facilitate the chart completion process. Some of these columns include: Diagnosis and Assigned To (with physician relationship as a tooltip)

Document Tree

The document tree is used to list the contents of the patient's record for the end-user. The document tree includes:

Note: Within these modules, do not use the browser buttons (such as the Back button) to navigate. Using buttons internal to the application ensures correct navigation. Also, the main window of each HPF WebStation module may contain a print icon at the top of the page in the title bar for the module. This button is not currently used by HPF WebStation modules.

Viewer

For optimal viewing of images in the browser, your workstation color setting should be set for 24-bit color or above.
