Processing assignments using the 'process' options requires the use of the worklist for assignment selection and the document image viewer for review and completion. You can also complete or delete assignments from the worklist without viewing the document image.
To review and process assignments, follow these steps:
The system checks out the first selected assignment (the worklist is not refreshed) and displays the viewer, as follows:
Checked-out, pended, or on-hold assignments cannot be loaded in the viewer.
Depending on how the workflow is configured for shared (or group) queues, the system takes one of the following actions:
The system updates the status for each completed assignment and removes completed assignments from the worklist. If you selected more than one on the worklist, it presents the next assignment for your review.
Skip item on the Assignment menu or the Skip button on the viewer. The system skips the assignment and displays the next assignment or returns you to the worklist. The skipped assignment is retained in the worklist. |
|
Reassign button. Provides the ability to reassign an assignment to another personal or group queue. See Reassigning an Assignment from the Assignment Worklist or Reassigning an Assignment from the Assignment Viewer. |
|
Delete button. The system displays the Delete Assignments window. If you click Yes to accept the delete action, the system displays the next assignment or returns you to the worklist. The deleted assignment is removed and the worklist is updated. If you cancel this action, the system deselects the assignments. |
|
Available only in the viewer. Add item on the Assignments menu or the Add button on the viewer. The system displays the Add Assignment window. See Adding an Assignment. You can add an assignment for only the encounter you are currently working with. |
|
Click the Process (or Process All) button. The system displays the Assignment Viewer. For further instructions, see Creating a Physician Query. |
|
Exit button. The system exits the viewer, frees any checked-out assignments, and returns you to the worklist. |
