To Select and Complete Your Dictation Deficiencies

Unlike signatures and missing text, when processing dictation deficiencies you can complete one, many, or all deficiencies from the worklist. Optionally, when you select one of the "process" functions, you can access documents using the Documents tab in the Content panel. (You can also complete the dictation deficiency from the Documents tab.)

To select and complete dictation deficiencies, do the following:

1. On the deficiency worklist, click Dictation. The system displays your worklist of dictation deficiencies. For a description of items on the window, see Dictation Window.
2. On the deficiency worklist window, select your individual worklist or your group's worklist from the Deficiency Worklists panel.
3. If the list of deficiencies is longer than the display page, use the scroll bar or Page Up/Page Down keys to move up or down the list and view all available deficiencies. You can also use the Next button to navigate to the next page of the list.
4. If the job ID feature has been enabled for your system, you can optionally enter a job ID for each dictation deficiency in the worklist.
5. To select all dictation deficiencies on the page, click the “select all” icon at the top of the deficiency selection check box column.
6. To deselect all dictation deficiencies on the page, click the “deselect all” icon at the top of the check box column.
7. Do one of the following:
• When the check box is selected next to each deficiency that you want to complete. Click the Complete button.
• To review and process only selected deficiencies, click the check box in front of the deficiency you want, then click Process. The system displays the chart for the encounter in your last saved record view.
• With or without deficiencies selected, click Process All. The system displays the chart for the first encounter in your last saved record view.
• To decline selected deficiencies from the worklist, click Decline. See Declining Deficiencies.

  Note: You can process a single deficiency by clicking the Document link on the worklist grid. (If you do not have a record view defined, when you select the Document link, the system displays There are no documents available for this view.) You can view newly added deficiencies by clicking the worklist name again, clicking another worklist, or clicking on a column heading.

The system updates the status for each completed deficiency and removes completed deficiencies from the list.
