To Add Bookmarks

The Bookmark menu option on the View menu allows you to mark documents or pages as you review the medical record. Bookmarks can be added to documents in the record when processing dictation deficiencies (from the Documents tab), when in the Medical Record Viewer, Encounter Viewer, or from the Documents tab (and a document is available). You cannot add bookmarks to pages in the Deficiency tab. One bookmark is allowed per page.

When marked, the pages are displayed in a list in the Content panel under the Bookmarks tab. Also, bookmarked pages are identified by an icon on the document tree. (See the View menu.)

Once you have bookmarked pages, the Bookmarks tab allows you to navigate through the pages quickly to review the record. If the document export feature has been enabled for your system and you are authorized, you can also print bookmarked pages from multiple encounters or documents with a single request, or you can create PDFs from bookmarked pages. For information, see Document Export.

When reviewing bookmarked pages, you can also use the Book View function.

To add bookmarks, complete the following steps:

  1. Access the encounter you want to review in the viewer.
  2. In the document tree or using the navigation buttons, navigate to the page you want to bookmark.
  3. When the page you want to mark is active in the viewer, click the Bookmark button or use Ctrl+B.
  4. Note: If you click the document node, the first page in the document is selected. You can bookmark one page at a time, or, if you are using the Book View feature and click the Bookmark button, both pages are bookmarked. You can also use the Ctrl key to select multiple pages to bookmark.

  5. Use the document tree or navigation arrows to review pages and documents in the record.
  6. As you review the record, click the Bookmark button for any pages you want to add to the bookmark list.
  7. See To View Bookmarked Pages.
