To Process Missing Text Deficiencies

Processing missing text deficiencies requires the use of the worklist for deficiency selection and the Deficiency Viewer for review and completion. You can also decline deficiencies from the worklist without viewing the document image.

Note: Only the missing text deficiencies assigned to you (or your group if you are in a group worklist) are displayed in the viewer, even if the document has other missing text deficiencies assigned to other physicians. If you want to process your deficiencies only, select an individual worklist from the Deficiency Worklists panel. When you process in group mode, deficiencies are locked for other physicians in the group.

To review and process missing text deficiencies, do the following:

  1. Use the steps in To Select and Display Missing Text Deficiencies to access one, many, or all of your deficiencies.
  2. The page with the deficiency contains a yellow text-entry box for the text you need to add. (You must be on this page to complete the deficiency; the system defaults to the page with the deficiency.) If the page with the missing text deficiency is not the active page (the page being displayed), do one of the following to reach the deficiency page:
  3. On the page with the deficiency, click in the yellow text-entry box.
  4. Enter the text you want (a maximum of 240 characters). When you reach the limit, the system alerts you. (You must have a sound card that is attached to either speakers or headphones, or no sound card but have internal speakers that are enabled.)
  5. If other missing text deficiencies assigned to you (or your group, if in group mode) exist on this page, they must be processed as a set (either all completed or all declined). Make an entry in each box on the page in the order you prefer. Only when you have entered text in each active text box, does the module enable the Complete (check mark icon) button. You can also use Alt+T to navigate the cursor to the next text box.
  6. To research the other documents for this encounter, click the Encounter Viewer button. The first page of the first document for this encounter is displayed in an additional viewer. Use the arrow buttons to page through the documents.
