Declining Deficiencies from the Viewer

The Decline Deficiency window is displayed when you choose to decline a deficiency that you are processing from the viewer and click the Decline button. The Decline Deficiency window contains a Standard Reasons list box and an Other Reason entry field.

To decline a deficiency from the viewer and assign a reason to it:

1. While reviewing a deficiency in the viewer, click Decline.
2. Do one of the following to select a reason (required field):
• In the Standard Reasons list box, select a reason.
• In the Other Reason entry field, enter a maximum of 225 alphanumeric characters.

Note: If you select a reason you can also edit it in the entry field.

3. To decline all the deficiencies associated with the encounter, click in the check box in front of the Decline all deficiencies for this encounter field. The same reason you entered/selected is applied to all deficiencies for the encounter.
4. When you select a reason, the system enables the OK button. Click OK. The system removes the declined deficiency (or all deficiencies for the encounter) from the list. The reason you entered/selected is added to the deficiency record.
