When accessing patient records, you may find that certain encounters are flagged to indicate they have limited access. This is indicated by a 'safe' icon on the Search Results grid. Depending on your security permissions, you may still be able to view this information.
If immediate overrides are allowed, the system displays chart information and audits the event, including your name and the reason you gave.
If only override requests are allowed, the system creates an assignment in the work queue designated as the Override Work Queue for the enterprise. An analyst must review the request. After review, for an approval, the analyst reviewing the request creates an assignment (or reassignment) in your personal queue allowing you to access the patient record. For a denial, no further action or notification takes place.
