Information on the Search Results Grid for EMPI

Information included in the Search Results grid for EMPI-enabled enterprises following a patient or encounter search includes the items in the following lists. When the Enterprise Master Person Index is enabled, the Patient Search module provides additional information such as the EPN (Enterprise Person Number) and additional facility information. You can sort the list according to the column by clicking in the column heading.

Note: Some of the field labels and column headings may be customized for your enterprise (Encounter, Admitted, Discharged).

Patient Search Results Information

When you search for a patient (using name, SSN, MRN, EPN, GPI), the following information is returned for a single patient or all patients displayed in the Search Results list:

Patient: If you click on this link, the system displays the list of all encounters and documents for the patient.
SSN: Social Security Number (only when enabled in HPF Workstation).
Date of Birth
Current Age: Calculated from the DOB.
EPN: Enterprise Person Number.
Sex

Encounter Information

When you search for a patient and expand an encounter in the list, the following information is displayed:

Encounter: Encounter number.
MRN: Medical Record Number.
Admitted: Admission date/time of the encounter.
Discharged: Discharge date/time of the encounter.
Facility: Abbreviation - Description.
Pt Type: Patient type.
Service: This may be displayed as 'xxxxxx' based on a security setting.
Age: Patient's age at the time of the encounter.
GPI: Global Person Identifier.
Disposition: Disposition of the patient at the time of discharge.

Encounter Search Results Information

When you search for an encounter (using Encounter number, admission and/or discharge date), the following information is returned for the encounter(s) displayed in the Search Results list:

Encounter: Encounter number.
MRN: Medical Record Number.
Patient: Patient name.
EPN: Enterprise Person Number.
Facility: Abbreviation - Description.
Pt Type: Patient type.
Service: This may be displayed as 'xxxxxx' based on a security setting.
Admitted: Admission date/time of the encounter.
Discharged: Discharge date/time of the encounter.
Age: Patient's age at the time of the encounter.
